Tampa chapter of the National Audubon Society
The Tampa chapter of the National Audubon Society is a
group dedicated to conserving
and protecting wildlife systems with an emphasis
on birds and other native wildlife.
The
Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary
The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is the largest non-profit wild bird hospital in
the country
and focuses on the rescue, repair, recuperation and release of sick
or injured wild birds.
The Sanctuary is located at 18328 Gulf Blvd., Indian
Rocks Beach. There are more than
600 wild birds living at any given time in the
sanctuary, including pelicans, cormorants,
white egrets and birds of prey. No
admission is charged, though
donations are appreciated. Open 9 a.m.-dusk daily. 727-391-6211
