WHALES

Of the
 Deep Blue Sea

Whales are more endangered today than ever. Many countries have succumbed to the pressures of big industrial fisheries by allowing them to ignore international treaties banning the commercial fishing of whales. Current population studies have confirmed that these aquatic giants have been hunted by man to near extinction , yet ironically, only man can save them.

Indeed, if these divine creatures are to survive, it will only be because of  the direct involvement and activism of caring, individual citizens like you! Enjoy this tribute to whales with these exquisite paintings by Else Bastelmann (circa 1940) and accompanying facts courtesy National Geographic. Then click on the links below and see how you can help save our whales today, before it's too late!
