Ewa & Kanaloa Marking Boundaries with Stones

Ewa: This town on Oahu is located west of Pearl Harbor and is used when giving directions on the island. Legends say when surveying Oahu the gods Kane and Kanaloa would mark a boundary by throwing a stone. Where the stone fell would be the boundary line. The stone they threw to mark the district of Ewa was not found, it strayed. Ewa in Hawaiian means "stray".
