Kanaloa bringing spirit people, calabash earth
According to the native Hawaiian people the first gods were Ku, Ka-ne, Lono and Kanaloa. They came from very far away. With them they brought with them a mysterious people who lived in the headland, trees and in the rocks - these people went on to become the invisible spirits of the air. In the beginning the Earth was a calabash, a large, round and very sensuous. The Gods threw the calabash up, and it became the sky. Part of the thick flesh of the calabash became the sun, and part of it became the moon. The seeds spread all over the sky, and became the stars.
